Selina Melancon joined Faiss Foley Warren Public Relations in 2009 through the University of Nevada Las Vegas’ internship program, where she quickly advanced in knowledge and gained responsibility. After a successful internship and graduation from UNLV, Selina was offered full-time employment at FFW where she currently works on a variety of accounts including Bauman Rare Books, After-School All-Stars Las Vegas and Symphony Park. Prior to joining FFW, Selina was an intern in the editorial department of Where magazine, where she further honed her writing and editing skills and was published in the September 2009 and October 2009 issues of the Where Quick Guide.
During her senior year at UNLV, Selina created and facilitated a music therapy program at Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation, while holding a part-time position on the campus of UNLV in the Newman Center Development Office. Selina cultivated donor relationships, managed a donor database of more than 2,000 names and created a donor communications plan.
A Las Vegas native, Selina entered Saint Mary’s College of California as one of three Presidential Scholars in her freshman class. She studied English literature in London, England and Melbourne, Australia, where she was a scholar of Joyce and Shakespeare by day and a waitress by night. When her year of world traveling drew to an end, she returned home to be near her family and graduated with a B.A. in English from UNLV. She is a third generation Rebel.
